Merry Christmas!

Why hello to the people that are somehow 6,000+ miles away! Or closer;)

You might have been wondering if I have fallen off the earth? I easily could have getting lost in this new area called Gardnersville in Monrovia, Liberia! But no problem, we as missionary’s learn to adapt quick and rapidly. So also you may be wondering as well how is working with someone who is like 6 3′ well my ten steps equal his one:) really wishing I wasn’t short at the moment! Haha but we work and teach great together. A quick little story that happened this past week was we were walking to find a new investigators house when a woman asked us if we were Elders and we with smiling faces were like yes, yes we are. She continued to tell us that she met elders in New Georgia and they said they would give her number to the missionaries in the area. Come to find out we had her name and her number written down! I have definitely started to notice Gods hand in little things like placing people in our path!

Elder Lords how was New Years!? It was terrific! I laid in bed with a case of malaria! But no problem I was able to recoup in the next couple of days small small each day! But here New Years is different, everyone you see they wish you a happy New Years! It’s really awesome, they are such sweet and gentle people and very loving!

Picture attached is a rat that was killed with a broom, this is the eleventh mouse I have killed in the four months I’ve been in Africa:) we enjoy plenty here, and I mean by rice and rice and some more rice! Circle of life goes humans eat the rice, when they discard the rice animals eat it to gain strength and then we kill the animal and eat it. Circle of life:)

Elder David A. Bednar in a BYU devotional of October 23 2001 said “The Book of Mormon is our handbook of instructions as we travel the pathway from bad to good to better and strive to have our hearts changed. King Benjamin teaches about the journey of mortality and the role of the Atonement in navigating successfully that journey. “For the natural man is an enemy to God, and has been from the fall of Adam, and will be f, forever and ever, unless he yields to the enticing a of the Holy Spirit and putteth off the natural man and becometh a saint through the atonement of Christ the Lord” (Mosiah 3:19)

I testify to that the Book of Mormon truly is our handbook of instructions in our life, each and every time we read, we should read with a purpose to gain something from our reading, not to just read because we are told to but because we want to and we know that it truly will help us in this life. It will help us understand the Atonement more fully and how we can use the Atonement in our daily lives, if you allow the spirit to guide, he will guide you place you never thought you would be. I know we are in the only true church on this beautiful green earth and that is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I love the church and everyone that is a member of it.

I wish you all an amazing new year and a happy snowy days! As I enjoy the sand in my sock and shoes and the sun on my skin:)

Love Elder Lords
